Industry Report demonstrates Wind Power Can Generate 1/3 of World’s Electricity
Free Press Releases.com reports that an industry report released by the Global Wind Energy Council and Greenpeace International, ‘Global Wind Energy Outlook 2006,’ cites that 34% of the world’s electricity can come from wind and 113 billion tons of CO2 prevented by 2050. The report presents the solution-oriented applications and measurable benefits of wind power implementation in the near future by demonstrating three scenarios, a Reference scenario of based on current International Energy Agency figures, a Moderate scenario which shows all target goals for renewable energy successful, and an advanced scenario in which all policies in favor of renewable energy are utilized. These scenarios are then laid over global energy scenarios which demonstrate that when the highest efficiency scenario is employed, global energy demand is significantly reduced. The growth in wind power has surpassed all other renewable energy sources and has expanded 12-fold in just 10 years and the international wind market has attracted investors from both finance and energy sectors.
