New Mexico Wind Farm Powers 25,000 Arizona Homes
KVOA Tucson reports that Arizona Public Service Co. has begun receiving power from the Aragonne Mesa Wind Farm in New Mexico. The wind farm, which features 90 wind turbines, each more than 200 feet tall, can generate a maximum of 90 Megawatts of power. The Arizona Public Service Co. is receiving just 5 Megawatts of this power, which is enough to power approximately 25,000 homes in the state.
