Wind Energy Capacity Increase by 70% in New York
<p>Forbes.com reports Nobel Environmental Power in New York will expand the states’ wind energy capacity by 70% due to an investment by General Electric for three new wind parks upstate. The parks will generate 282 megawatts and will bring and estimated $352 million in new revenue to the region over the next 20 years. Also, Empire District Electric announced a 20-year agreement with Horizon Wind Energy to purchase power from Cloud County Farm in Kansas. Empire expects to purchase 350,000 megawatts annually to power approximately 25,000 homes.</p>
