Wind Farms Springing Up in Adair County, Iowa

Written on August 30, 2007

Radio Iowa reports Invenergy has proposed a wind project near Adair and Cass counties in Iowa called “Windy Hills.”  Landowners housing turbines of the project will be compensated at $5,000 per turbine for the first year and the rate will compound by 2% each year thereafter.  Clipper Wind Power and Alliant Energy also announced plans for wind farms within the same counties.  This will create a strong tax base for the community and will add jobs to the area.
