Stages of the Cape Wind Project
The Martha’s Vineyard Times reports that while the Cape Wind Project has jumped several hurdles, they still have to clear the Cape Cod Commission before the 130-turbine project can proceed. The commission has authority over state waters where transmission lines would be buried underground. Earlier this year, the Massachusetts Office of Energy and Environmental Affair deemed the project environmentally adequate regarding the impact it would pose, thus moving the project to the permit stage. The Cape Wind Project has been highly controversial.
