Energy Companies Fight for Back Up Proposals to Off Shore Wind Farm
The Daily Times reports NRC Energy and Conective ENergy are competing for rights to build a natural gas plant to backup the proposed offshore wind farm by Bluewater Wind. Arguements from the respective company’s lawyers brought up issues of physical locations of the plants, start up times, megawatt capacity, etc. Delmarva Power, who would utilize the power, has expressed that a contract with Bluewater would prove too expensive for their customers.
