Laser Technology Placed at Offshore Wind Farm Site
Marketwire.com reports Naikun Wind Energy Group Inc. has installed a laser wind velocity measurement system at an offshore wind project site in British Columbia, Canada. This technology will provide for wind resources by measuring wind speed, direction, turbelence, and shear at multiple heights. The laser will stay active through all five phases of the project, the first phase of 320 MW is expected to be operational by 2009.
