Kites To Help Reduce Fuel Costs for Ships
Inhabitat.com reports an enterprise called Kiteship could reduce fuel costs of a commercial ship by 10-20 % without affecting its speed. The company proposes using massive kites, 13,000 square feet in size, to help haul ships up to 400 feet long. A potential partnership with four shipping companies and KiteShip is being discussed to build this $2 million kite.
