RenewableEnergyWorld.com reports that the U.K.’s massive expansion plans for offshore development can add up to 32 gigawatts to overall capacity. Under the Round 3 leasing program by The Crown Estate, the nation becomes the world’s number one offshore developer. In addition to nine offshore projects already in place, 1,156 megawatts are currently being built, and 3,500 megawatts already approved.
