UMPI calls wind turbine a success, critics say it’s a waste of taxpayer money

WLBZ2.com reports that the University of Maine Presque Isle purchased and installed a 600 killowatt wind turbine on land behind the athletic fields a year ago. A year later, the university says the turbine is proving to be a wise investment, but opponents to industrial wind say it is the evidence they’ve been looking for to prove that wind power is a waste of taxpayer money.
