Environmental Finance reports that BP has acquired Orion Energy, a California-based wind power company that is currently developing 30 wind farm projects. This brings BP’s Alternative Energy project capacity to about 15,000 Megawatts.
Washington Business Journal notes that Arlington, Virginia-based AES has purchased a majority stake in UK-based Wind Energy Ltd.
AES forecasts European wind farm power generation capacity to increase “fivefold over the next four years”. Earlier this year, the company said they intend to triple investments in wind energy generation over the next few years.
